Tokyo Rockers/Tokyo New Wave
This time two legendary japanese punk/new wave compilations from '79!

On January 21, 1979 a group of Japanese bands reportedly got together to record an independent album called Tokyo New Wave ‘79.
On May 11, 1979 another group of Japanese bands held a series of live performances, in Shinjuku: a ward of Tokyo. The recording of these performances was released as Live Tokyo Rockers ‘79.
Other than that, I don’t know much else about the two albums.

these two albums gave again me desire for see again the famous movie of the same title.
In this movie excepted bands as "Mirrors" or "8½" a fuckin' good band called "SS" (so called "The Original SS"). So I've just a little request for you, 'cause I'll want to know if you have something of this band and if yes do you can put it online?

Although if you have something from the band called "SS", don't hesitate for put it online 'cause it will be really great too.
I believe there's two recordings of this band:
-The Original SS 12" EP [1979]
and
-Live CD [12" tracks + more, recorded 1979]

yes, there's only record by SS called "The original". It was recorded in march 1979, but released in 1985. I got great bootleg onesided LP of that record and I like it a lot. Musically, they played ultra noisy fast punk, absolutely great stuff. Although it is wall of brutal noise, you can recognize cool melodies here. After hearing this, there' s a new question about first HC band in the world. I doubt they knew MIDDLE CLASS out of vogue EP {1978} from Los Angeles. This is one of my all time favourite proto-HC bands.
yeah, The SS record is amazing. Some people believe that it may be normal punk that sounds hardcore because of sound quality, but i have some high quality versions of songs from the album and they are definately playing at a very fast hardcore pace!
